More on the quilts

So I was able to finish the quilts, so here are some pics!

This quilt is one I made a few months ago and just barely finished the binding on it. I'll probably end up donating it somewhere or else giving it to the cat because Matt doesn't like it...but oh well whoever gets it will enjoy being warm under it. :)

My dog-ferret-cat sleeping

Just some pictures of my kitty lazing in the sun sleeping on our couch in his unusual way. :)

Have you ever seen a cat sleep like that? I haven't until him he did. Normally when he does this though he folds in half and puts his hand over his face too. But I guess when I took these he was enjoying the warmth from the sun so much that he just stretched out and let it soak in.

As for the quilts I just need to quilt and bind them and they will be done! YAY!! I ended up just letting the one for a future daughter just be crib size instead of a twin, which is just fine with me.

The quilts so far...

Just a couple of pictures of the two quilts I'm working on :)

And of course my little helper!

The top blanket I'm making for my older sister, it's a flannel cobble stone blanket with 1940's vintage print fabric. It's really fun to work on but a little tedious at times.

The second blanket I'm making for a future daughter. It's all cotton/poly blend fabric. The center fabric I got from a bunch of remnants at Fabric Mill, the sashing fabric came from there too. On this quit I just need to make it a little bit bigger so it'll fit a twin bed. Mostly I just need to finish figuring out the sashing and attach it.

Once both tops are done I'm going to spend a day at my mom's house and machine quilt them. I'm still very much a beginner when it comes to that part. So i'm thinking that on the cobble stone I'll do either Stitch - in - the - Ditch (when you copy cat the seams) or else stipple every other diagonal strip (it's a bunch of curvy lines that never cross, it kind of looks like a bunch of scribbles). For the other one I'm not really sure what do to.. I'll probably stipple all of the sashing and then do circles in the middle of the center squares (??) but I'm not really sure about that yet... We'll see what happens but I'll post more pics when the tops are done and when they're all finished! :)

SPRING!!!

Well I just took my last test for a little while and did better then I've ever done! I got my first 92 all by my self and I'm very happy about that! And in celebration I'm on Spring Break! :D Which for me means no classes next week and I can actually catch up on some much needed house cleaning! (never thought I'd be excited to clean...) This also means that I'll get to catch up on some other projects too. Hopefully I'll get the blankets I've been working on done (I'll post pictures if I do). On one of them I just need to fix a couple seams that went funny on me and the other I need to finish the center. I'm excited for both of them to be done. After that I have two unfinished baby sweaters that need some attention, more baby booties for the 4 (that I can think of) pregnant women in the ward and two knitted baby blankets I'm working on, those may take me a little while but I'm okay with that!

Other then that it's just working and trying to come up with some good dinner ideas. Matt likes a lot of variety and I find myself falling into a rut. I really need to get back to planning a menu at the start of every week. I did that when we first got married and it helped a lot. Mostly because when I remembered to do it Matt would help me by telling me what he wanted or something that he wanted to try. So hopefully I can get back into the habit of doing that.

Oh and I found out my sister, Bekah, is going to come out for a week! Unfortunately it's the week after my break, but that's okay at least we'll get to hang out for a little bit while she's here :).  Also she's allergic to cats/dogs/basically everything so we'll have to figure out some way to get all the cat hair off of Matt and me when we go see her. I think her whole family is coming out too but I'm not positive about that.

But I'm going to go try and figure out something for dinner. Any ideas?....I'm not sure either... I'll go bug Matt and see what he wants!
